In the previous issue, Lambda Web Functions make a debut🚀☁️ #109 talking about Web Functions.
AWS Lambda has been evolving into many different abstracts today, and honestly when Lambda Web Functions got launched a couple of weeks back, I felt it’s time for re:Invent pre-launches or pre:Invent. But then it went silent.
Why do I feel for the Serverless world, it’s just AgentCore making all the noise. There are a ton of updates as part of pre:Invent that is going out - be it with EKS supporting Kubernetes Gateway API in EKS Auto Mode or any other service, but why do I feel it’s too silent for Serverless - Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions all of the Serverless services. Is this a silence before the “actual” AWSome releases?
Ever since Lambda launched Durable Functions and MicroVMs, I see the same approach that Cloudflare, Digital Ocean and Temporal going big on their own versions of these features of Lambda. Is this where Lambda will be the abstraction while other tools become the next kin of Serverless?
I’m convinced that Serverless is more of the abstractions that are getting build on top of the Serverless ecosystem that AWS Lambda laid the foundations. I’m also hyped up to see what re:Invent launches are going to drastically change the Serverless and AI space.
⭐ Pick of the month
